Experience
As a professor at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, I teach graduate-level translation and interpreting courses online. During my teaching career, I have also spent time working at Concordia Language Villages teaching Spanish, and from 2003 until 2010, I worked as a teacher's assistant in an undergraduate Spanish class. I decided to pursue tutoring, because I enjoy face-to-face teaching and interacting with students on an individual basis. I believe that teaching on an individual basis allows teachers to build a working relationship with students that incorporates respect, commitment, and trust. I have experience working with students of all ages, as well as students with ADHD.I tutor students in the Milwaukee area in Spanish at the introductory level, Spanish levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, as well as AP Spanish and AP Spanish Literature and Culture. I also tutor students in Latin American history, social studies, literature, world literature, and literary analysis. Additionally, I offer test prep services to students preparing to take the CLEP, and International Baccalaureate students who are preparing to complete the IB Extended Essay. In my free time, I enjoy playing board games, reading novels, hiking, and playing volleyball. I also enjoy spending time translating literature.
