Education

Previous: Exercise and Movement Science Major/Global Health Minor at UW Madison Overall GPA: 3.7 Excluding Freshman year: 3.9 Current: Final year Student Physical Therapist in the DPT program at UW-Milwaukee

Experience

I have spent over two years tutoring UW Madison students for the Center for Educational Opportunity in Physiology and anatomy. I have worked with a total of eight students and averaged four hours a week with each student or group of students. I have also been a TA for a physiology class and an anatomy class at UW-Madison as an undergrad, and received A's in both classes. I choose to tutor through University Tutor because I believe I can provide better help when tutoring sessions are done on the student's terms rather than a tutoring company's. I was restricted in a number of ways when working for a tutoring agency, but the biggest was a limitation on the number of hours I could spend with each student. It prevented me from ensuring my students knew all the concepts they needed to know for their exams, which was frustrating for myself and my students. Working privately has prevented these issues and allowed me to continue doing something I have been very successful at and truly enjoy. I am in my final year of Physical Therapy school and will have my doctorate this May. I have hundreds of hours of direct patient care under my belt now and can use my real world experience to teach about medicine, physiology, and anatomy.

Hobbies

I spend a lot of my free time downtown either working on group projects or hanging out with my PT class, but when I'm not with them I'm usually playing guitar or drums since music is my biggest interest. I'm also a huge fan of reading and can definitely get lost for hours if the book is right. I'm probably spending more time than I should going out to eat now that I live in such a large city as well. I recently went on a two day rollercoaster vacation (one day at six flags, one at Cedar Point) with my friends from PT school. It was as amazing as it sounds.
