I’m a journalist and Spanish/English translator offering video-chat tutoring over the internet from the Dominican Republic, where I live and work. The best part about tutoring from this Spanish-speaking nation is that I can connect students to real native Spanish speakers their same age, with whom they can practice conversation and learn about life in a Spanish speaking country. Tutoring through video web-chat also avoids the hassle of transportation and time conflicts because we can communicate at anytime over the internet. My experience in addition to tutoring includes serving as writer and editor of Madison’s Spanish Newspaper, La Comunidad News; translating legal documents for the State of Wisconsin Office of the Public Defender; conducting a six-month long research project with in the Dominican Republic educational system, among other jobs.
