Experience

I began my tutoring career in 2008. It is my goal to help my students find joy in improving their English, whether it be grammar, spoken English, business English, test preparation, or essay writing. I hold a B.A. degree in English literature, and I currently work fulltime as an online English teacher. I have discovered that most students benefit from a one-on-one environment in addition to a group or classroom environment. I understand that many of my students are preparing to take the SAT, ACT, TOEFL, or IELTS exam, and many questions arise which can be best answered in a more focused tutoring session. I have extensive experience with adults and previously worked as a first-grade teacher while living in the Middle East. I will work hard to understand your individual learning style.

Hobbies

I love reading, writing, and hanging out at cafes. I enjoy travel and art. I love to paint and visit museums. I enjoy psychology and science. Since 2010 I have volunteered in teaching ESL to adult learners (18 years and older). I am extremely patient, and understand that learning a language can be difficult, perhaps sometimes even frustrating, but also exhilarating and extremely rewarding! I am animated and enthusiastic. I love to use props and games. The class should be fun!
