Private tutor in Milwaukee, WI
Education
Saint Louis University-Main Campus - Bachelors, Communication Sciences and Disorders , Marquette University - Masters, Speech Language Pathology
Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree in communication sciences and disorders along with a minor in psychology from Saint Louis University and my graduate degree from Marquette University in speech language pathology. After graduation I worked for the Milwaukee public school system as an elementary speech pathologist. In this role I have found a purpose and a passion in a profession that allows me to leverage my love of learning, desire to make a difference in the lives of others, and my fondness for working with children. I love tutoring because it provides me with the same opportunities. I currently offer tutoring services for algebra 1, elementary math, middle school math, pre-calculus, reading, writing, arithmetic, pre-algebra, English, phonics, vocabulary, English grammar and syntax, and statistics. I also enjoy helping students prepare for upcoming exams such as the GRE, ACT, and STAAR. My experience in speech pathology and communication disorders provides me with an extensive background in language and it has given me insights into how to help students move forward when they are struggling. My tutoring style includes utilizing multiple approaches depending on the academic needs of each individual student. No two students learn in exactly the same way or face the same challenges and it is important that their lessons be designed with their unique circumstances in mind.
