Joshua B.
Private tutor in Milwaukee, WI
Education
University of Illinois at Chicago - BS, Neuroscience
Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in the field of Neuroscience at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Next year, I will be attending grad school and pursuing a master's degree in Science teaching. I have worked as a professional tutor of college students for more than two years now. I also worked as a research assistant in the school's Science department, where I was tasked with developing material for undergraduate nursing courses as well as study tools for high-level Biology classes. I get a great deal of gratification from helping students go from struggling with their class material to mastery in the subject. One of my great strengths as a tutor is breaking down complex problems into smaller parts that can be more easily understood for the students before being put back together to see and comprehend the big picture. In addition to the standard Science fields like Biology and Chemistry, I am also comfortable tutoring in the subjects of Anatomy and Genetics, as well as unrelated fields like English, Psychology, and the Social Sciences. When I am not in the classroom or working as a tutor, I like to spend my time reading, drawing, rock climbing, wakeboarding, dog training, and playing guitar.
